The Sacred Valley of the Incas Tour has five places to visit, Chinchero, Moray, Salineras de Maras, Ollantaytambo, Pisac. If you like you can visit all five sites in one full day.
This itinerary gives you the opportunity to visit all the most significant places in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where you will be able to appreciate the magnificent work that the Incas did in stone.
You will also have the opportunity to interact with the local people and enjoy the mountainous landscapes that surround the sacred valley, with its glaciers, rivers and the friendly people who live in the ancestral valley.
For example, you will make a stop in Chinchero to visit the Inca ruins, a colonial temple and a local family to learn about Andean textiles, then you will go to Moray to visit the circular terraces, Salineras de Maras, then you will visit the largest archaeological center in the sacred valley which is Ollantaytambo then we go to Pisac and then we return to Cusco.
Our adventure to the Sacred Valley begins with pickup from your hotel or Airbnb in Cusco City. Pickup time is between 6:00 am and 7:00 am. The exact time will depend on the location of your accommodation. Please contact us via WhatsApp.
A visit to the local textile center of Chinchero will allow you to learn about traditional weaving techniques and offer insight into the region's rich cultural heritage.
We head to Chinchero. Here we will find the fascinating remains of Inca wall constructions along with a colonial church steeped in centuries of history.
Our exploration continues with a visit to the famous circular terraces of Moray, an archaeological wonder that played a pivotal role in Inca agriculture. These terraces, meticulously built in concentric circles, showcase engineering ingenuity and ancient agricultural practices. As you explore the site, you will gain a deeper appreciation of the Inca's profound understanding of agricultural techniques and their harmonious relationship with the natural landscape.
After that we will descend to the salt mines of Maras, a picturesque place for its landscapes; here we will visit more than 3000 salt wells, this salt was used by the Incas for their consumption.
We will arrive at the city of Urubamba where we will enjoy our buffet lunch and continue our trip to Ollantaytambo, known as “The Last Living Inca City”.
Once our visit to Ollantaytambo is over we will go to the picturesque town of Pisac located on the slopes of the Intihuatana hill (“Place where the Sun is tied”).
We will enter the indigenous market of Pisac, which is the best place to buy crafts and then finish by visiting the Pisac Archaeological Park, Inca archaeological sites, finely assembled polished stone constructions.
We will be back in Cusco at approximately 7:00 pm, we finish the tour in the Regosijos square. We drop you off at the square for dinner and head to your hotel or Airbnb to rest.
